Education Work Force
Connecting Education With Local Industry
The Education Workforce Development Committee plays a pivotal role in enhancing the skilled trades landscape in Kosciusko County. They meet at the Chamber on the second Friday of each month at 7am to focus on raising awareness about the critical importance of skilled trades within the community.
Their efforts include coordinating workforce development initiatives in collaboration with WorkOne, a key partner in workforce training and placement. The committee actively researches and evaluates work-based learning opportunities, ensuring that local educational programs are aligned with industry needs and job market trends.
Advocating For Workforce Development Programs
Additionally, the committee works to build and maintain positive relationships with officials at the federal, state, county, and local levels. These relationships are essential for advocating on behalf of the skilled trades sector and securing support for workforce development programs.
Connecting Students, Educators, And Local Businesses
A significant part of their work involves planning, conducting, and promoting two major annual events: the Chamber’s GPS 2 Success Career Expo and the Annual Education Summit. These events are designed to connect students, educators, and local businesses, providing valuable opportunities for career exploration and professional development.
Through these initiatives, the committee aims to foster a stronger, more skilled workforce that meets the needs of Kosciusko County’s growing economy.
